HERMES

What is HERMES?

HERMES is a network of European researchers working in the fields of migration, ethnic relations and minority studies.

Established as a non-profit organisation in 2004 and regulated by its own statute since 2005, HERMES aims at promoting competence in international comparative research and at facilitating international co-operation among European researchers.

In 2008, HERMES started to operate as an inclusive and non-hierarchical network of early-stage researchers, offering unique possibilities to communicate, explore and learn from the differences of disciplines, cultures and research traditions inside the EU – providing the ground for the future state of European social science in the field of migration.Founded for a significant part by women, HERMES aims at promoting their relevance within European social science.
